Microschools are a growing trend in education. They existed before 2020, but during and after the pandemic, numbers skyrocketed! Microschools are as diverse as dog breeds. According to the National Microschooling Center, they vary in size from a handful of students to over a hundred, with a median student population of sixteen. Microschools meet in homes, churches, and business locations. Since microschools are so new, there is no standard definition yet, but many of them operate similarly to the old-fashioned one-room schoolhouse.
Several states have recently formalized aspects of microschools (sometimes called learning pods) into their legal codes, but in most states microschools run under the radar. Conservatives need to work on getting favorable legislation passed in their states. Microschools can provide another avenue of escape from government school propaganda and poor academic performance. It’s just another way to STEP OUT!
